Universities and Research Institutions urged to develop and operationalize Intellectual Property Policy

Universities and research institutions across the country are being urged to develop intellectual property policies for their organisations and put in place deliberate strategies and action plans for implementing the policies developed.

An Assistant Research Fellow at the Directorate of Research, Innovation and Consultancy at the University of Cape Coast, Mr. Isaac Nketsiah indicated that this was the only way the universities and research institutions can remain relevant and be more agile and responsive to the challenges in 21st-century higher education institutions.

Include Intellectual Property Disclosures and Protection as Part of Promotion Criteria

Prof. David Teye Doku takes Office as Director of DRIC-UCC

The immediate past Director of the Directorate of Research, Innovation and Consultancy (DRIC) of University of Cape Coast (UCC), Prof. Frederick Ato Armah, has handed over the Directorate’s administration to the newly-appointed Director, Prof. David Teye Doku.   

Prof. Armah, who was appointed as Director in 2019 (after serving as deputy Director for three years), congratulated Prof. Doku on his appointment.

He was of the hope that the new director would work tirelessly to advance the cause of DRIC.

The University of Cape Coast, UCC, has honoured Prof. Felix Israel Domeno Konotey-Ahulu, an accomplished Ghanaian Physician and Scientist and ninety-three (93) other scholars.

The awards were presented during the launching of the UCC at 60 Innovation Report, 2023-2027 UCC Research Agenda, and Special Awards Ceremony held on the theme, “Academia Industry Innovation Matchmaking: Practical steps for 21st Century Universities.”
